Аnnotation: Two parameters of areal probabilistic seismic hazard assessment (A-PSHA) are discussed. The parameters are very useful for the earthquake engineering practice and seismic risk management in densely populated areas. One of the parameters is determined using the annual rate of exceedance of ground motion level in at least one site of interest located within particular area. The second parameter determines probability that specified ground motion level, say design ground motion, will be exceeded at least once in at least fraction of the reference area during specified period of time. The specific features of calculation of these parameters are discussed and the results of application of A-PSHA are demonstrated on example of Taiwan Island region.
