Аnnotation: The article is devoted to the improvement of the methodology and technology of detailed seismic zoning of the Sakhalin region and adjacent areas. A new regional GMPE model derived from instrumental data of accelerometer and seismometer networks, as well as imported NGA and NGA 2 models are considered. The results of the probabilistic seismic hazard analysis for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk made it possible to compare the hazard curves in physical parameters produced by different attenuation models. The advantages and disadvantages of the regional GMPE model are discussed in this study. Practical recommendations are given.
