Аnnotation: The article describes the principle of the piezoelectric accelerometer. Methods for determining the accelerometer conversion coefficient in the time and frequency domains are described on the basis of the comparison of the simultaneous accelerometer, displacement and velocimeter records. The operating frequency range has been determined. It is shown that the experimental and theoretical AFC curves of the accelerometer agree well in the frequency range from 1 to 10 Hz. It was found that the accelerometer is ineffective in field work. A conclusion is drawn about the effectiveness of the use of velocimeter records for the modeling of accelerograms.
