Аnnotation: The seismic process in the subduction zone in a wide range of depths is discussed. Deep-focus events cannot be associated with elastic energy accumulation processes. A model for the manifestation of a deep-focus event is proposed. The sensitivity of the lithosphere to the manifestations of deep-focus events indicates the only mechanism of communication between them. This is hydrogen degassing. The rapid formation of local vertical structures of hydrogen flow up from depths of less than 100 km and their initiation of earthquakes in the lithosphere is shown. The possibility of short-term estimation of the position of the real epicenter zone of a future strong earthquake is shown
