Аnnotation: The results of a study of temporal variations in the concentration of microparticles in the near-surface layer of the Earth in summer are presented. As initial data, we used the results of instrumen-tal observations of the mass concentration of microparticles with sizes less than 2.5 μm (PM2.5) and meteorological parameters in the surface layer of the atmosphere for the summer period of 2021 and 2022, obtained at the mid-latitude Mikhnevo Geophysical Observatory of IDG RAS . In the course of data processing and analysis, diurnal variations in temperature and PM2.5 were determined. A strong correlation was established between the average daily temperature and PM2.5, both for individual months and for the summer period as a whole. In August 2022, the factor that had a significant impact on PM2.5 was forest fires in the Ryazan region.
