Аnnotation: A validation study of the effect of Moon phases on the of emergency and urgent psychiatric hospitalizations frequency was carried out on the population of people with mental disorders in the city of Penza and Penza region (Russia) for the period 2018–2019. The assessment of the frequency of hospitalizations was carried out among persons with severe mental disorders (with pronounced psychotic and pronounced affective and behavioral manifestations) during periods of different phases of the Moon: full Moon, new Moon, first quarter, last quarter. As a result of the analysis of the data, it turned out that the psychiatric hospitalizations frequency in different phases of the Moon did not differ significantly (p = 0.4382), which correlates with the data of similar foreign studies.
