Keywords: evolution of the Earth, liquid core, Earth’s energetics, entropy, geodynamo, Carnot cycle
Аnnotation: The paper considers the sequential selection of parameters in the model of cooling the Earth's core. The model describes the evolution of the core since its formation after accretion 4.5 billion years ago, the appearance of a solid core, and also assumes extrapolation by 1.5 billion years into the future. It is shown how the imposed conditions, in particular, the size and age of the solid core, the requirements imposed by the geodynamo, change the process of cooling and growth of the solid core. Scenarios of evolution are considered when the appearance of a solid core does not lead to significant variations in the energy available for the generation of the magnetic field and the efficiency of the dynamo mechanism introduced by analogy with the Carnot cycle.
