Аnnotation: The earthquake and tsunami of 1185 year in the North Azov area is considered multidisciplinary firstly in scientific aspects basing on old Russian written source «A word prince Igor regiment about». Attention is focused on such questions as interrelation between earthquake and tsunami, trembling force, geographical position and conditions of the observation place. The epicenter area is established on the North-Eastern shore the Sea of Azov. Information on historical earthquakes for 200 years in the region is given and their elongation along the North-Eastern sublatitude shore is fixed. This seismogenic zone is correlated with large tectonic structure of the same orientation - the North-Azov fault. Finally a question on seismic potential estimation is arising with taking into account of archaeoseismic matters, which haven’t been attracted to seismic danger estimation up to here.
