Keywords: the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean, potential fields, the Earth's crust, the Islas Orcadas and Meteor rises.
Аnnotation: The features of potential fields characterizing the Islas Orcadas and Meteor underwater rises located in the South Atlantic are considered. These rises are located to the west and to the east from the axis of the southern segment of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge at approximately the same distance. Density modeling was performed along the profiles intersecting indicated rises. The analysis of potential fields and the results of density modeling showed a generally similar structure of the crust and lithosphere of the Islas Orcadas rise and the Meteor rise, which confirms the general nature of their formation as a result of the split in lithosphere of small Agulhas plate, due to kinematic restructuring, which led to the death of the Agulhas ridge and the formation of the southern segment of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. However, some features are noted in the density structure of these rises, both along their north-south stretch, where the influence of hot spots on the warming of the mantle is particularly evident, and along
